no.. I think gravity does the work of pulling the 5 here.. Put 3 right under 5.. grip side of deck with mechanics grip so 3 is secure. open the deck by pulling only on top half with top hand .. Fingers on bottom hand act as springs..5 falls out grab it quick by releasing top half, fingers on bottom hand recoil closing deck back before 5 falls all the way out.. Cleans up after the effect while removing 5 for inspection.. Just my guess.. I will try it and see.. SUPER EFFECT

i think that he had a break above the three and then just flicked out the five with his nails and then when he went to grab the five he just slid the three back into the deck

i am not sure but it is just a guess
