  • This guy is telling the truth cuz i know from experience. Thank god i got off the cycle of medication. My best advice to give all you guys is to stay away from psychiatrists and dont take anti depressants or anti psychotics. Exercise and a healthy diet is much more effective than any drug out there.

  • Yes, i agree that all medicines are the same. They sometimes or most of the times worsens the situations.

  • Keep in mind also that the FDA has warned of this. READ a package insert also! The FDA has warned that ANY ABRUPT change in dose of an antidepressant can produce hostility, suicide or psychosis. They warn of abrupt dose changes & changing antidepressants & withdrawing. So you are on Celexa & the doctor decides to switch you to Effexor. He either instantly or over just days drops you off one & abruptly starts the other. To avoid antidepressant-induced bipolar must wean up & down VERY GRADUALLY!

  • This is simple to understand. ANTIdepressants - the opposite of a depressant are STIMULANTS. Bipolar is a continuous series of mild seizures, just as the dream state is a series of mild seizures. Overstimulation of the brain, which stimulants produce, causes seizure activity. Antidepressants overstimulated the brain resulting in seizure activity that is diagnosed as Bipolar. Over the same period for increase in antidepressant use in youth (mid 90's-mid 2000's) Bipolar diagnosis increased 4000%!!

  • THANK YOU DR. COUSINS!!!!!!! Dr. Gabriel Cousins is not just an MD, but a psychiatrist and a very well respected psychiatrist. I am appalled by the posts on this video - so many personal attacks against him - the "Kill the Messenger Syndrome."

For 20 yrs I have specialized in adverse reactions to antidepressants. Check out my DVD, "Bipolar, Shmipolar! Are You Really Bipolar or Misdiagnosed Due to the Use of or Abrupt Discontinuation of an Antidepressant?" (Google drugawareness) Ann Blake Tracy

  • Really doesn't make much sense how can you relapse if you never go on the drugs? If you never treat the depression then there is no relapse your just contantly depressed.

  • i could go and dispute each of his clams

but would i evan bother for the sake of a "dr" wearing pajamas and makeup

  • Amen.

  • hey bro I respect what your saying but I think there might be a point of no return,I have been on meds since 17 now 33,but befor that I was a fucked up child, undyagnosed, the last 4 years I have been on riggourus exercise routine taekwondo, swimming, wieghts,i do feel better,bi-polarity is still there, daily I want to kill others or kill myself, this is not a fun life.Iwould like to get off seroquel just stay on lithium, last i went off seroquel, paddy wagon picked me up.I hate psychiatrists passion.
