Dear vinodbhatia,
wrt ur explanation it seems u r taking the meaning of chunri and daag without considering the following lines "woh duniya hai babul mohri ..... Yeh duniya sasural" The philosophical meaning cant be ignored.

Dear Mr.Chandatnagpur,
'Bidai' is one time of a daughter's marriage which is the most difficult time for her 'Babul' when lots of good things are said esp.when parents insist their daughter should not forget them. That is why she says that it seems that in one night where the whole world has changed for her, it seems, 'bhul gaye sab bachan Bida ke,Kho gaye main sasural mein a ke' and it seems she has forgotten what she had told her parents at the time of 'bidai, and now this is her house. .

Dear Mr.Chandatnagpur,
Continuing from where I left. Since she has lost her virginity that is why she is in a completely different situation than what she was before marriage and that is why she is hesitant in establishing an eye contact with her 'babul' when she goes to her father's house, which was hers too before marriage, but it is no more hers now.The writer has very beautifully expressed her feelings by writing, 'Bhul gaye sab bachan bida ke, Kho gaye main sasural mein ake'.I will continue

Dear Mr.Chandatnagpur,
My view view very drastically differs from your view. If you listen to the entire song each and every line hints at what.it is all about..When she sings,'Ho gaye maeli, mori chunriya,Kore badan se kori chunriya, Jake babul se nazre milau kaise, Ghar jayu kaise, Laga chunri mein daag',If you think deeply she is expressly saying that the way her body was untouched, the same way her chuneriya was untainted before marriage when she was a virgin but it is no more that way.

Dear vinodkbhatia
This is one of the most philosophical songs. Chunri is not what you are thinking it to be ;-).

As far as my understanding goes this is the only interpretation that I have mentioned. It is a very bold attempt on the part of Sahir Ludhianvi to write a song with this fervour, to be frank with you, Please do not mind my boldness, when I write, there is vulgarity involved in this song. Please do not be offended because I do not mean to do that. You ae fully aware what 'chunri' means and what 'daag' means. If you are trying to draw a curtain and hide the vulgarity aspect, it is your choice.
Salaam From Pakistan !
A Masterpiece , thumbs up for Manna Dey !

What a classical combination of music and voice, only Roshan Lal Khatri and Manna Dey could produce such a difficult song.
