I have a little fishing spot in newport beach that gets totally raped by all these gooks taking undersized sandbass. I came there one afternoon to see a pile of undersized filleted bass. Poachers suck! people need to show some goddamn respect for the ocean. Thanks to these jerks the MLPA is here!!

The fish and game in oregon kicks ass! California DFG officers dont do squat. They let all the illegals here poach and keep undersized fish, and do nothing about them selling sportfish. (illegal)

Probably targets razor clams because they're not as easy to farm. Just a guess though. My aunt farms the hard clams (cherrystone/chowder), and the rules aren't so strict, but they're easy get spat for. It seems tough, but I'm glad for the harsh rules. I've already seen many resources that were once plentiful dry up in my own area: crab, whelk, oysters, clams...that were once plentiful and in balance with those who enjoy eating them. All b/c people waste and don't pace the harvest.

There will always be something bigger and more scandalous around the corner, but it shouldn't close the public's eye to other things going on as well. Just because there's a forest fire doesn't mean you ignore the person whose house is burning on the other side of town. And those "peasants" didn't look hungry (judging by the beer gut on that one guy) so much as greedy.
