A beautiful animation by the russian master. I scored a 5 minute segment of it for my college project.
Director: Andrey Khrzhanovskiy.
The original music for the movie was written by Alfred Shnitke.

  • Excellent. Thanks for sharing. Of course we Schnittke fans have an initial problem with this, but once we get past it, your music is really lovely and the project as a whole shows things about how the relationship between two elements working together actually works.

We need more of this boundary-busting activity.

  • @98TheDave

Read the description please. I did it as a demo/presentation.

Of course any movie without its original music is not the original thing. Thats not the point!

I am not trying to be Schnittke....I am not claiming my music to be better...THIS IS A RE-SCORE. You are of course entitled to your opinion - you don't like it...that's fine. I still put a lot of effort and musical skills into it.

  • whitout schnittkes music this cartoon doesnt make as much sense !

It is a cartoon TO Schnittkes music ,and not Schnittkes music to a cartoon .... this isnt the true Glass Harmonik !

  • @coaxqueen

The point of my "experiment" was:

    1) A college final

    2) Demonstration of my film scoring abilities

p.s - not really an experiment, but thanks for the critique :)

  • @iskyj999 Obviously you didn't replace the music!, I just said that I don't see the point of your "experiment" because the film is already masterly done, and as I wrote, the piano parts are fine composed indeed, but in the part where sounds the glass harmonica, doesn't sound any of the like

    :)

  • @coaxqueen - You didn't read the description. I didn't replace Schnittke's music because it is not good.

It is amazing and Schnittke is a genius! The only reason I took it away, because I wanted to re-score (write my own music) to this animation as a demonstration. I love the animation and the director, but I couldn't record the music over Schnittke's obviously :)

  • why change the beautifully and masterly score of Schnittke?!!!! the piano parts are fine, but the "glass" part doesn't sound like

  • This animation really reminds me of Yellow Submarine... Awesome...

  • sweet

  • really
