Natural Hair Inspirations 2012

A short collage of just a few of my personal natural hair inspiration favorites for 2012.

My healthy hair journey began in the summer of 2010. 2011 proved to be a year of discouragement for me as my hair fell short of my expectations for it.

Gardening is one of my past times so I began to wonder if the journey for 4c hair is not unlike that of a newly planted perennial: During the first year the root system develops; during the second year the top grow develops and during the third year the long awaited flowering begins in earnest.

I have to be patient with my hair and with myself. It HAS improved. My level of expectation was at fault -- not my hair.

The majority of the photos in this year's collage are of more reasonably attainable goals for my hair.

I've learned that my hair is neither thick nor thin. It is finely textured, very delicate and requires gentle care. Though it was a blow, at first, to discover that I would not see the same progress that I was noticing in some of my youTube hair idols, I have now come to "Perfect Peace" in my Hair Journey.
