Absolutely loved Blacklers. Remember going with my Mum and having sandwiches & tea in the restaurant served by proper waitresses in b/w costumes. Riding on Blackie was always a highlight and was free.we could never have afforded a rocking horse of his calibre, I remember the staff wore gloves to serve and sent the payment in tubes through the piped system which was fascinating in itself. Think Grace Brothers with bells on! Grotto was always FAB. Christmas Amazing shows, A sad day when it closed

Fond memories of Blacklers, I worked in the shoe department in 1970, I was 18.

I used to ride the big rocking horse in Blacklers while my Mum pretended she could afford stuff. Happy days.
