@Curlytwins1993 It's an early version of the song. Look up the BBC version of it. They always have really different takes on their songs; sometimes they're better, sometimes they're not. But they're all awesome.

why is this sung differently than the studio version? just curious cuz i haven't noticed other AC videos that do that. i like both sounds though :]

I don't really understand why people think animal collective is so strange. Their songs may not be conventional, but i think they're really satisfying and pretty. I dunno. Some nice ass vocal harmonies and a cool ass backing loop. soundz grood

and on the other hand, the naivety and absurdity of trying to present a false image, or contrived image, to the other/external...because the other is ultimately the self. "I" really am all the things that are outside of me.

I just got out of jail and hearing an amazing performance from one of my favorite bands has made me cry a big maudlin cry.
I love how AC makes their music. Basing a sound around a feeling, then blowing it up into something beautiful.
Three kids walking around with a grocery cart... lyrics like "am I really all the things that are outside of me"
This song is about being perceived by the external, and how people don't appreciate what they have, because they think without their STUFF they are nothing.
Some people are too concerned with what's fashionable while others are just happy they get to fucking eat again.

This is like if Animal Collective became homeless, but out of generosity they still created beautiful music in the streets.
