Catch your breath as you watch your step
Head spinning round as you hit the ground
Present tense time is of essence
Hold the second hand going round the dial

And we got caught in the whirlwind
Torn by the storms of our lives
We counted - counted on something
That never could hold up our lives

By chance to see an inner light
Your wildest dreams bring a certain fright
Doubt arising from the shock
It's your head that's back on the block

And we got caught in the whirlwind
Torn by the storms of our lives
And just when we though we had something
It turned to dust in our eyes

Out on the sea on a winter's day
Looking north over skies are grey
There I can see as the winds blow high
Do the storms still rage or maybe it's my eyes

  • @Ramsmeat Yeah, he uses a double neck ric

  • I love the fact that I can go and listen to stuff like Mastodon and Job for a Cowboy and then come right back here and enjoy this fucking epic 78-minute song! TA forever.

  • @Ramsmeat A picture I found of him appears to be indicate that he does use a Rickenbacker bass.

  • Which kind of pick up Pete Trewavas use on his bass? I love the metallic sound like Rickenbacker.

  • @Progurlife All of this just to point out that there was no need for you to mock my first comment ! So good luck and have fun listeners, make of this music what you feel of it. Like Blaise Pascal said, the spectator creates the art as much as the artist himself. :D

  • @Progurlife Lol. Look at you, you make no sense in your arguments. First you make fun of me because I am comparing the instruments and vocals to 70s prog bands and now you are making the same statement. Why not make a list of bands (actually artists) they are mimicing? How is that unproductive? You would simply say that Transatlantic is a "copy" of early Spock's Beard, I would say it's a copy of things that originate 30-40 years earlier. A cultivated jazz listener could probably correct us all.

  • @TheCharlestonFollies Also, the drums are no where close to original as Mike Portnoy mimiced Neil Peart throughout most of his career.

  • @TheCharlestonFollies Funny, but it would be more accurate to say that the guitar "sounds like" Yes as you know, Roine Stolt mimiced Steve Howe throughout most of his career. Btw, there is no need to mention so many bands. Instead of making a list of bands, I would simply say that Transatlantic is no more than a copy of early Spock's Beard.

  • @Progurlife Look at you trying to get me on language technicalities. I never said borrow, and it would take a person that didn't know any of the artists I mentioned to not realize that they do in fact "sound like" them. So my conclusion is, you probably don't know half of the music you should by naming yourself Progurlife. I mean how can you argue with me, the band even explicitly says they mimic those artists just like Dream Theater mimiced Pink Floyd throughout most of their career.

  • @TheCharlestonFollies The words you used above were not inspiration but "sound like". Inspiration means the idea is stimulated by others whereas "sound like" is nearly a synonym of borrow.
