i am not even an auburn fan i am a VT fan. bottom line sec is the best conference in football. auburn would have beat USC in 2004. any team that goes undefeated in the sec deserves to prove they are the best.

thanks to the bcs for not giving auburn and utah a chance to play for the title in 2004. new rule- if a team is undefeated, it keeps playing until somebody beats them!

if your a vt fan, then how come vt basically shut down auburn the whole game, i saw highlights of that game and if it wasnt for the kicker, it would have been vt that won the game. USC had the best defense that year and auburn got killed at home the year before by usc at home. auburn barley beat vt in the sugar bowl, when usc BEAT THE HELL out of oklahoma

@xchargerOUx give me a break you are using the only thing everybody says about the sec that their ooc conference schedule is weak. and yet they keep winning national championships. and nebraska beat TN in the 1997 season. that was 14 years ago. and it was not a NC game since there were no NC games until the BCS was established in 98. since than the SEC is 7-0 in NC games. but i guess you wanna argue about semantics. answer me this. if the SEC is not the best league in CFB than who is?

@xchargerOUx isnt oregon west of the mississippi? texas is west of the mississippi as well right? or maybe you mean oklahoma? didnt all 3 of those teams get beat by the SEC the last 3 NC games? and im not an SEC homer. my team is virginia tech and my conference is the ACC. i am however a realist and its pretty hard to deny that the SEC is not by far the best and deepest league in CFB. in the last 15 years every time an SEC team has been given the chance to play for a NC they have never lost.

@rastaman24211 - Going undeafetd in the SEC isn't everything, homer. Once the SEC improves it's record west of the mississippi, then they will get credit.
