Hemp can be refined using our current infrastructure with only a few alterations and could take us off imported oil well within TWO YEARS. It would also impact: soils degradation, deforestation and desertification. It is drought-tolerant and a nitrogen-fixing "weed" that improves soil integrity.
America was built on hemp. Call, Email, Write to your State Reps - Support H.R. 1866

Even if we gave 60% of our state budget to K-14 education it still would be substandard. We need to restructure how we spend the money to provide the services effectively to the people of our state. Spending Washington D.C school district sized money would not give miracles either.

Our per-pupil funding is among the lowest in the US. This from one of the richest economies in the world.

Cuts or eliminating prop 98 are not the answer. Eliminating Prop. 13 is.

I am a high school student in California. It is disgusting what they are doing to out school system. I am truly appalled. I cannot go to summer school, or get money for college because my government is so irresponsible and over spends. My generation and future ones will suffer because the California government cannot control their wallets, or spend wisely. Truly disgusting.

Fact is the state has spent too much money(more than it has) for too many years and now it's finally reached the point where taxes are already the highest in the country after that $16 Billion tax increase they just slapped us with a couple of months ago. There's nothing left to do but CUT. The middle class is leaving the state. Small businesses are fleeing the state and taking the jobs with them.

Put our kids first is dead on. Trouble is our Schools are full of Illegals. The Voters Tried to stop it but they didn't listen. So if the whole School Sytem crashes, then it deserves it. LISTEN TO THE VOTERS--Thor
