  • The Ruthof steamship ran on a river mine near Ersekcsanad in 1944, taking the lives of some of the crew, among the casualties was a then 32 years old stoker, my paternal grandfather Henrik Szabo of Harta, Hungary. He left 4 small children to be raised by her widow Krisztina Ohl. In 1957, another family member worked on salvaging her, so she sailed again as the “Ersekcsanad” with my maternal grandfather Peter Weber stoking her. With all these family ties, I should pay her a visit in Regensburg…

  • Thanks a lot for uploading!!

i come from Regensburg, Germany where the Ersekcsanad/ Ruthof was built and is anchoring now! Nice to see the ship in action !

(a kéményben a füst jöhetett más forrásból is)
