This is a sound suppressor I built on a form 1. The host is a Walter P22. The rifle has a Ciener .22 conversion and the suppressor is an Ops Inc. 12th model. I did the comparison to just compare the two sound-wise. The first five shots are CCI Subsonic and the second five shots are Federal High Velocity. I then repeat this with the rifle. Note how the Federals go supersonic from the rifle. The sonic crack you hear is the bullet flying down the range after leaving the silencer.
NOTE: If you are serious about building a legal silencer and plan to invest the time and money then do some web searches for some silencersmithing info. (oh, if you are not a machinist or don't have access to a mill and a lathe then this size of a silencer may not be possible. Also, if you don't want to do it legally, then don't bother)

  • HEY DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HE IS USING SUBSONIC AMMO?

  • @69healthhazard I know this is a crappy video, but I do state that I'm using CCI Std. Velocity ammo -- which is subsonic. It also states that it is in the description. I made this video purposely to demonstrate the sound differences between subsonic and supersonic ammunition. In the pistol, the HV ammo doesn't go supersonic because of barrel length. In the rifle, it does. Hence the sonic crack you hear in the last five shots.

  • I like how you write at as the right term "Suppressor" and not the idiot one called a "Silencer"

  • @ruskie20 Yeah, "silencer" may not be a very accurate term, but it's still acceptable. The AFT literature actually uses the term silencer. And Silencerco makes kick-ass silencers. Go figure.
