@ecotts the new hp mini uses the sata, but the orginals use the old ide connections.

i noticed you have 2 cables, are they the same or is one different ? i need a new hdd and cable for my 1000 and am not sure where to start

@Stylezx You don't have to use them there kind of to long in a way. I just use HP's ide cable ribbon.

I keep hearing mixed things as to upgrading the hp mini 1030 from a SSD to an actual hard drive. can someone set the record straight? Can the 16 SSD be replaced with a physical 120GB HD whether its IDE/PATA/SATA and if so, where and how do I go ahead of doing this?
