Ristar is a platform game for the Sega Genesis first released in 1995. The graphics are extremely well done. Everything is shaded, and the backgrounds as well as the sprites look very real. It's an excellent game, and didn't recieve the attention that it deserved. Not many people knew about this game. The people that designed Sonic Hedgehog are the same people that produced Ristar. Also available for wii virtual console

  • Ristar is such a classic in itself. The gameplay, sprites, stages, colors and music. Everything in this game was so well done that it should have gotten more recognition. One thing that was really cool about this game is that when you were deep under water it would get dark.

  • I knew that way before that game was released. The trailer actually showed Sonic in his Werehog form stretching his arms. I knew it was a blatant rip-off of Ristar. This game is so much better then that.

  • So this is where SEGA first tried the conecpt of strechy arms, beofre the Sonic Werehog
