There are more American and Japanese composers because they have better music education.

With music being next to non-existent in English schools there are less chances of people developing an interest.

America and Japan seem to be more open to modern ideas, where as Classical music in England is rife with snobbery. This fascism stops young composers from being discovered and celebrated.

  • Too many people use only one style of composing and it pisses me off....You can compose in any genre of music....I don't have money to learn it....So,I don't believe all of this hype.

  • @TheLuotutin

probably because they are classically trained. where as others are not so you hear a different style from them.

  • Die Hard Trilogy kicked ass! I loved that game and its music so much when I was 10!

  • The summary is fucking ignorant! Music not available in the UK? Dumbass.

  • BARRY LEITCH IS MY UNCLE

  • Na,I mean people should use more style....It makes composition look as though it's only classical just by the name "Composition."

  • thanks for making this :D

weird because this is a response to the Rickroll video o_O

  • Neat comp! Although I would've loved to have seen Neil Baldwin represented. He was an amazing NES composer (Magician, Ferrari Grand Prix, Erik the Viking, etc...), and he's developed new software for making music on the NES.

I also wonder if there's another explanation for the shift in Japanese/ European dominance to Japanese/ American dominance in vgm. Because the Europeans were more prolific than US composers for a platform like the NES. Harder to name US guys... (David Warhol and co?)
