Get your education, you can get caught up on the cutting later.
How did you end up on the west coast going to school?
That's a long way from VA.

Maybe but it's red oak.
I've cut several in that same area.
Mostly red oak, maple, yellow birch and some white birch in that area.
Where are you o56 and what are you cutting?
