TrickStyle - UK race 1 - 1:06.67

So here's the first race you get in the game. It certainly doesn't ease you into the game, with even this opener throwing in sharp turns from the get-go (with train blockades!) that make it a pain to go fast, and the ending full of speed traps that cause you to eat up time if you go too far of course and have to make it back to the track.

Even this speedrun has 2 bails, though they're not in places I particularly mind: the harsh S curve is going to slow you down from Katana Board speeds no matter how you try it, and the bail coming out of the second checkpoint gets me to land right on the speed pads, something you'd normally overshoot so it's a wash.

And the ending is one of about two places in the whole game where it makes sense to use the Reaper Drill move (the other being, naturally enough, the start of track 2 where you play the same section in reverse).

Is this the Dreamcast or PC version?

I don't suppose anyone could help me out, I own the European DC version and it has constant slowdown on single player, I was wondering if the game is always like this or if it was just a shitty Euro conversion as these Youtube video show a pretty consistant speed so I'm thinking of importing it from the US.

This is the NTSC DC version. Speed overcompensation in PAL wouldn't surprise me.

Whoah thanks for the fast reply dude, when I 1st saw my version's slowdown I was pretty suspicious because it is PAL optimised (our TV's have a higher resolution) and you can't increase a games resolution to that scale without something taking a hit. I'm definately going to import a US copy when I get around to it cos that game looks pretty nicely smooth and I know from my own copy that the games interesting and the tracks are pretty well designed anyway.
