ONE DAY DOWN BY, DOWN BY THE LAKE
I. one day down by the lake
One day down by, down by the lake
Picture yourself standing by a lake,
peaceful on a perfect summer day
Memories are flashing through your mind
You bring yourself back to that place and time
When there was no mountain you could not climb
Open fields and free to wander,
brand new days no rain nor thunder
Time did not mean anything
You look down and see your reflection upon the water
The lines upon your face dont show today
You long to be that young man you were yesterday
But youre at peace with who are and here youll stay
Its something that this world cant take away
The winding sometimes confuses,
the fact that we can win by losing
No reward in worldly gain
Daylight slowly turns into the night
And you dont know who are youve lost sight
And its dangerous,
getting lost inside a world thats not your home
Remember, that one day by the lake
When the spirit made you sure of who you are
So hold on, to that feeling once again, once again
One day down by, down by the lake
II. see you real soon
Those who seek with eyes wide open
and have a heart to heal the broken
There will be answers, there will be answers
Those whove heard and have the calling
to save another life from falling
There will be answers, there will be answers
Those of us whove turned our back on
the gift of one who gave his own Son
There will be answers, we will see the answers alive
Well bow down, every tongue will confess, that he is Lord
And all of us, will have to account, for what weve done
Some believe the blind can be made to see,
with the power of a bended knee
There will be answers, there will be answers
Some live for the here and now
they ignore that there could be a way out
There will be answers, we will see the answers alive
Does it make you wonder why he gave it all
He had every reason not to catch us from the fall
Now we never have to wander
Bow down, well see you real soon
Bow down, well see you real soon
And if I fall away, if I fall away,
take me down to the living water
Take me down to the living water
Should I fall away,
take me down to the living water
Take me down to the living water
Take me down...
@MrCamelneck John has a new album in the works right now - there's a link to hear a preview of it on his Facebook page, and it sounds AMAZING.

Absolutely the best Kansas song to be released in the last 30 years!
This includes any songs by AD, Kerry Livgren, Steve Walsh, or Proto-kaw.
This is classic Kansas with timeless appeal. Awesome blend of prog-style keyboards with hard rocking guitar!

This is what I feel Kansas would have sounded like today ...It has all the elements ...
Plus throw in a little AD .
John has a remarkable way of being able to sound very livgrenesque.
John.....You are an amazing singer and composer !!

Yes, Kerry Livgren plays on this song and at least one other song on the album. It is listed on the CD. This was Kerry's last studio release playing guitar before his stroke on September 1, 2009. He has had a great recovery but can not play the guitar except a few blus notes with a finger pick.

@Selmer1430P - Are you sure Kerry plays guitar on this song? This album is a Mastedon album and their guitar player is Dave Amato from Reo Speedwagon.
