my pacus lip did that too when there wasnt enough oxygen in the water. hopefully hes not in that tank anymore. beautiful fish though!

i am doing the maximum six air outlets and one small filter head mixing air. but still it is not enough even in the bigger tank. so i am trying salt one table spoon for five us gallons

Those smaller ones are red bellied pacu? If yes, i have one. Very easy to scare them. Not very personable like Oscars. Never the less, love my pacu!

yes. I am getting a 125gallon fresh water tank. I have being studding the fish for it for a year and I feel ready to do it. I am getting a Fire Eel, 2 Oscars, I have an Alligator Gar(but it is soon to out grow its tank and he need a bigger one), and a Pleco.

Yes you've hit right on the nail, just cause it will survive does not mean you should treat it that way.

dude, that should be the same with all fish. people think it is just fine to stuff a beautiful Beta in a bowl then 3 weeks later they wonder why the fish looks like crap.

I think they should be avalable but not to the degree they are, (sold by the thousands to uneducated people who stuff them in 50 gallon tanks.) They should only be kept by the people willing to provide the space required.
