We have developed an app to help with skill acquisition and generalisation into real life which we base on the skills taught in DBT skills groups. Many find the app to be an effective tool to help train and makes the skills accessible 24/7 within reach. DBT Self-help app for Iphone.

I uploaded some videos I made during DBT. Though you might find them interesting.

Jesus Christ, why did she shoot herself at the end of the video?

It's hard work, but DBT really can help to some degree - and maybe to a great degree.

@coppermoth she has had her own deep struggle with her own mental health, I think she has the right to be a little sarcastic here and there, no one takes treatment more serious than she does!

The way she jokes about those suffering from this disorder is incredibly disturbing. Seriously, making light of those who think ending their lives is the only way to escape the mental torture they're in...wow...I'm just shocked. Shame on her. To those who have been helped by this woman, this is wonderful. I'm glad you have found relief. Her attitude in this video however is just off. It's not open mike night at the comedy club, you're talking about a horrific illness - have some compassion!

Wow! reading these comments I hear a lot of negative judgments and that really shows how you (and everyone really) could really benefit from her class. I LOVE DBT and how it changed my life and it is thanks to this woman single handedly!
I just wish I could find DBT classes in Northern California. I have been looking into becoming a therapist just so I can learn more about DBT and share it with others here that also cannot get help here!
Marsha - You are amazing! Thank you so much!

You have no idea what you are talking about. this woman have been through as much as any one of her patients. She has singlehandedly put together a revolutionary and effective type of therapy for people who have never been helped or understood, people who have suffered through types of internal hell that 99 percent of the world couldn't imagine. And then, she brought this therapy into the public eye. So Angelica, calm the fuck down and think before you speak.
I was lucky enough to get to work with Dr. Linehan for a whole year. She is so amazing. And..I'm cured! After 7 years of running around to treatment centers and doctors I found her and that was the beginning of the end of my problem. I love how fearless she is and how extremely caring and loving. One of her mantras is that "the patient is always doing their very best to get well" and just her holding me in that light made it possible for me to fully recover and never look back!

For those of u who were offended by her humor, it may help u to know: 1) She is not laughing at her patients/clients, she's laughing at herself & the naive beliefs she had when she began her therapy practice. 2) The video was not made for the purpose of helping people feel bad about themselves, or to provide a visual sample of DBT therapy. It was made to teach therapists about DBT therapy. The therapist-audience is laughing because they recognize their own experiences in her tale.
