The Center for American Progress, in conjunction with the Glaser Progress Foundation, recently launched a multiyear effort to increase public understanding of what it means to be a progressive given our nation's history and the challenges we face today.

  • I have nothing against the term "progressive", but I still preferred the term "Liberal". The fascist "conservative" party in America has spent the last 20 years trying to turn the word Liberal into a dirty word.

It is LONG PAST time we returned the favor and started exposing "conservatism" for what it is. Stark greed and authoritarianism trying to secure wealth and rule by their own "elite" few.

There is nothing more ANTI-American than the alleged "conservative party" in America.

  • Yeah right, the last time a Democrat was in office the government was so bloated that we actually had a budget surplus and peace talks around the world.

Republicans are just as bloated, they're just hipocritical about it. In fact the whole american political machinery is bloated either way - so I rather our government do something for all of us with that bloat other than protect someone else's oil companies and private mercenary troups.

  • Isn't this a George Soros Company?? You know George Soros, who kills his own people and a pawn for the Rothchilds, you know the George Soros Zionist Pig...

  • @flydaedalus government is the problem... you try to make it do things for everone but it still serves itself and the special interests that donate campaign money

  • Conservative: I support the unaleninable right to life, libery, and the pursuit of happines. Government is designed to defend this principle and nothing else.

Progressive: You have the right to life, some liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but if you fail, you have the right to the liberties and pursuits of others. Rights are granted/taken by governments at the whim of the masses and are not self evident. Collective rights surpass the unaleniable, uh, nonexistant rights of the individual.

  • Progressivism crosses party lines.

I believe Republicans used to be the Progressive Party until the 1930'sish.

  • @smgumby I couldn't agree more

  • Do we really have to resort to such obnoxious propoganda that caricatures a viewpoint into obscurity? I'm very progressive but I'm equally capable of recognizing that just because someone disagrees with me doesn't mean they are heartless and anti-human. Besides, these aren't even true in all instances: Civil Rights Act 1964, Voting Rights Act 1965, Philadelphia Plan were all supported by more REPUBLICANS than Democrats... Should we really anticipate ANY long-term shifts in opinion with this?

  • I'm not conservative, and yet even I can recognize the stupidity of this video.

Conservatives are against the State managing health care, thus conservatives are against all people having health care? Ah, the stupidity hurts my brain!

  • Progressives/libs do NOT love their country only what they think they could do with it if they could take it over.

  • I can't for the life of me understand why soc, lib, progressives need to shove everything they want down America's throat,Fuck off and leave those of us alone who are doing just fine, the wealth they want to steal was generated by our system of entupanurship that they love to bash, greed is not nessesarily bad,the war on poverty has been genocide for blacks.WHERE IS JOHN GALT! four legs good two legs baaaad

  • @jcmurray88 I hear ya, but I don't see the majority of people as 'responsible, well-educated/informed passionate folks'. Maybe the younger are mor e informed, I hope so..Look at recent history in the U.S. How effective were'the people'? The fact is, there's a whole lot of citizens that make bad choices because it's 'easy' and frankly don't deserve to drag the nation down with their apathy.
