The Mi-40 programme was first launched as early back as in 1983 to be suspended soon since the company went for the Mi-42 helicopter featuring the unconventional NOTAR concept to compensate the main rotor's reactive torque. Due to the Soviet Union collapse and general economic crisis, the Mi-42 programme had to be cancelled.

I only used it to give people a better idea of what the Mi-42 would have looked like. I'm not claiming it as my own.

  • a razve ne vidno chto banalni fotojop ??

  • Why does this remind me of a mi-26 with guns and rockets ?

  • @TATARSTAN59500 Mi-42 is NOT a stealth design. It is purely a concept for a NOTAR technology demonstrator.

  • @debntrav is stealth but is not invincible

he was protected for missile lock and radar but this is helicopter so sound is in the place haha !!!

this is helicopter again so its possible see it and this is finish with him helicopter is not plane

and eleminate engine noise of helicopter good bye impossible

  • @TATARSTAN59500 Your posts are extremely hard to understand. But I also have a strong disbelief in stealth-modifying standard rotorcraft, so that part I'll agree with. There are some patents proving enhancement to the concept, but hopefully the designers will get funding to test them and prove their validity.

Meanwhile, how did we get on the subject of stealth designs?

  • @debntrav no ka-58 a good example this is rah-66 comanche usa no product but stealth helicopter is crap solution more armor and haha ivisible technologie same in star wars

stealth technology for helicopter is good for missile stinger and sa-24-igla-s no lock

but ciws pantsir......... and other aa system is manual too so when guys see helicopter

this is the end for him !

  • @TATARSTAN59500 Are you referring to the Mil Mi-42 concept? It's not a stealth design, it's a concept for NOTAR technology (NO TAil Rotor), in which case it uses a vectored jet in the rear to stabilize the aircraft, instead of a conventional tail rotor. The technology was originally designed by US company McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Systems as a safer alternative to conventional 'exposed' designs. It does, however, offer a slight suppression of noise, but not enough to be considered stealth.

  • @debntrav but stealth helicopter for what ???

ok is stealth but sound !! its impossible take away

and helicopter is showy so can server has nothing

plane jet ok but helicopter for my opinion this is invisible technologie ;)
