I give some clarifications and tips on my blindfold method video. Issues discussed:
1. Parity fix clarification
2. My example solve and why it was confusing
3. Green Orange vs. Orange Green
4. Flipped/Twisted edges and corners
5. M2R2 method

6. Keeping track of solved/unsolved pieces

  • Ok so I don't think you're going to like this question as it refers to parity. :(

Let's say for this instance, like in your videos, you solve the edges first and then corners. Once you figure out there are an odd number of moves for your edges, you would do a J Perm or something of the like. For your inspection, do you then memorize the corners as they will be after the J Perm?? ... or memorize how the corners are the way the cube is in inspection stage? Thanks in advance!!!!! :D

  • @neo2141 you memorize how they are in inspection phase. Once you do that J perm, you are putting everything back the way it was, as far as corners are concerned

  • Thanks four posting. I learned Bld Solving based on your tutorial. :) However, I came up with a different way of dealing with flipped edges. I memorize all flipped edges at the end and then solve them using setup moves and M'UM'UM'U2MUMUMU2 .

Can be a lot quicker, especially when you have 2 of those and dont use the buffer piece. Could also work for corners but that's not as easy to memorize IMO.

Just an idea that maybe others might find helpful too...

  • yep thats a good point. I sometimes do that too, and I use commutators to solve the edge flips because im too lazy to learn the flip algs :) That works well too, you are right. I should have mentioned that :p

  • wow , random, but nice keybaord - is it one of those gamers ones? lol

  • yep its the G15, i <3 it! it glows at night :p

  • you should do a video showing the 3-cycle method :)

  • Thanks, I'm still trying to figure out how to memorize the edges... I finally figured out the Pochmann method, gives me such a headache...

  • but badmephisto, why don't they just call the M2R2 method the r2 method? XD (i thought it was a funny joke)

  • @geocine i'd do L R F R' and a J-perm (or put the piece to the backside with a similar setup and the other J-perm) or possibly with L d' L then a T-perm (or again, a similar setup like L' d L')

  • @badmephisto coooollll...

  • Wait, you can only have one parity?

  • Thank You!, i was having trouble memorizing my setup moves...but you fixed that!

  • @mynameisdarthtater I use tapping, I tap the side of a piece that you want to switch and then I tap the next and I memorise that pattern.

  • @lex224ification Doesn't matter

  • Hi how do you deal with these scenario . The currect UR sticker is green, and we want to swap it with the current LU sticker which is blue. How do you deal with orientations?

  • If I have an incorrectly swapped edge piece, should I break into that cycle and solve that edge firstly?

  • are you sure this method is easier than 3-cycle? I'm having a hard time memorizing this.
