She definitely knows when she's being watched. :) I wonder what she'd do with paints? I've actually looked at some ape paintings, and one thing that struck me about them is that the colors used almost always complimented each other. IE: The way lavender goes with pale yellow, or greenish-blue with light orange.

Jamie sometimes paints. We have a few prints of her paintings for sale in our online store. Lately, she's been more keen on eating the paint than putting it to paper or canvas, though :)

Anywho, Jamie is a very special woman indeed, :D She's amazing! Wish I could meet her ^,^

I guess the answer is probably? Bonobos, a close relative of chimpanzees have been taught to use a keyboard with symbols to communicate, and chimps, gorillas & orangutans have been taught sign language. Jamie is particularly dextrous and chimps tend to have short attn spans,though. Our stance is that apes don't belong in captivity, so we don't condone breeding chimps for even behavioral research. But of course we advocate for the best care when they are in captivity.
