Alesha... I first met you just four years before this performance, at your most explosive and robust age of 16. Your energy, your joie de vivre were so contagious, and your passion so obvious. I still cannot fathom how it is that you are not among us any longer. I miss your presence.

I never forgot him after seeing him play the Mephisto at the Cliburn competition...What a tragedy!

my gr8 pleasure to be welcomed to texas 1989 with this young genius's hands down victory at V Clib Intl Piano Competn. And the field was not exactly weak! For his audition, kid played a Proko Piano Sonata in a blur of bewildering, breathtaking spine tingling notes that foretold future triumph. Then that stroke circa 2001 and gone 2005. rest in peace Alex ... you will never be forgotten!

@luisfrodrimaz Tragically, he died at age 35 in 2005, four years after a terrible stroke. He was a truly great artist!
