Section 8 Housing is Destroying Black Families

A lot of these Government run programs are destroying black family's because its making our black youth act lazy and immoral babymama's are the norm while having kids in a 2 parent house hold in marriage is almost nonexistent.

Let the haters hate. Welfare, Food Stamps, and Section 8 is here to stay. In fact I just got a letter saying that My food stamps and SSI is going up because of the cost of living. So much for the big huge cut everyone was talking about.

I'm not saying we should get rid of section 8 but it needs to be reformed so that people can stop abusing the system there should be a 5 year limit to how long a person can live off section 8 and welfare

@JESUSSWOOPE How does me saving money and spending less affect a whole community? Things are way too expensive out here now a days and I refuse to go broke trying to keep up with inflation. If prices have to go up on things let the government handle it since they are the ones that truly have all the money. I;m not worried about other black people I only worry about myself. My kids are just fine they see their daddy whenever they want its up to them. Black kids mostly have bad dads!

Correction its not "my black community" because I don't own it nor does segregation exist anymore so the "black community" is an invalid terminology due to the fact that anyone can live anywhere in the United States. I teach my children to be independent but I also teach them to take advantage of free things such as food stamps, welfare, SSI, and section 8. Section 8 is the best thing created on earth.

Make it a RULE and tell them from day one "If you're just being nice with the goal of getting laid then please don't waste your time or mine ...I am SAVING myself for MARRIAGE!" Trust me ...the one's who ONLY care about sex will leave you alone and any man who truly wants a WIFE will feel that he just hit the JACKPOT! I'm telling you this as a man who has slept with MANY!

@MsKateRoberts You know ...I was in agreement with you until you said "white husband's" ...THAT is what has now thrown me off. Could you please explain what is so special about "white husbands". Before you do, just know that I know more than a few black women with white husbands and ...I'm just NOT impressed. An ex girlfriend had 3 sisters with white husbands and NONE of them were any good ...and they admitted it, her two sisters with black husband's were GREAT husbands ...and they admitted it.

@MsKateRoberts Listen ...I have NO problem with using food stamps, sec 8 or ANY other assistance available ...if you need it. That's what it's there for. Yes, if you're in school, have a baby or NEED it for ANY other reason I have NO problem with that. My only issue is with becoming complacent and content to STAY dependent rather than strive for independence. Far too many people have NO plan to EVER progress beyond these govt assistance programs and THAT is the problem.

@TheSweetSarahize Do you know how expensive the simple things are these days? I swear gas shot up $2.50 in 10 years. Milk was $2.00 cheaper just 6 years ago. MCDonald's now charges you 50 cents for extra BBQ sauce for your chicken Mc Nuggets (Which is why I now go to Wendy's their nuggets are better anyway). The average market rent for a 1 bedroom 20 years ago in the city went for $500 today they want and arm and a leg. Thank God 4 Section 8 let them pay all that.

@TheSweetSarahize I teach my children to strive for their education and be independent women. They will never be poor because I will always be there for them and if I can't be there for them then they will have a solid education and a good paying job. The back up plan to that is government assistance and the back up plan to that is White Husbands.

You couldn't be further from the truth. Just because someone is on government assistance doesn't mean that they strve to stay on there because at the end of the day they don't give you a whole lot. It is only an aid/supplement. As far as poor goes that is not true. I OWN a business and have a degree as well as a nice place to live w/ my family!

@TheSweetSarahize That is where you are wrong. I teach my children to be independent and always strive to do better. However I teach them that if they can save money then do it. If that means getting food stamps and section 8 while you are in school why not? I mean they are getting financial aid and that is also from the governement. If it makes their lives a little easier then take advantage of it, times are hard.
