Committed to the advancement of women's health, the North Shore-LIJ Health System has broken ground for the Katz Women's Hospital at both LIJ Medical Center in New Hyde Park and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, offering an unparalleled experience to women of every age and background. In spaces specially designed for women, the Katz Women's Hospital will offer a full range of obstetrical and gynecological services, with state-of-the-art technology and amenities.

At the same time, North Shore-LIJ is developing the Katz Institute for Women's Health to coordinate the healthcare offerings of the Katz Women's Hospital and the entire health system. Through the Katz Institute for Women's Health, North Shore-LIJ will provide the community with educational and outreach programs, lifestyle and wellness programs, and groundbreaking clinical trials devoted to discovering treatments and cures for a wide range of conditions affecting women.

Mothers, daughters and sisters. Teachers, healers and protectors. Shoulders to lean on and hands to hold. Women are so many things to so many people and now it's time to make sure they can enjoy the same healthy, fulfilling lives they work so hard to provide for everyone else.

On May 16, 2010, join your family, friends and the whole community for an inspirational walk along the Jones Beach Boardwalk to celebrate women's health and wellness. All proceeds will benefit the new Katz Institute for Women's Health and Katz Women's Hospital of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, an incredible initiative that promises to transform women's healthcare forever.
