Tim Finn is a reptilian shapeshifter. Undeniable proof, and you can see it for yourselves. Start and pause the video rapidly to get a frame by frame view of his hand and fingers morphing into reptilian form. Also notice the large number of masking blocks trying to cover it up. His claw like hand is also visible at 0:11.

At the time they were writing the songs, they were gonna be put out on a 'finn brothers' album. When the record label rejected the new crowded house stuff, Neil asked Time to join the band so they could put out the stuff they'd been working on together.
