Obscured by clouds, a trek in the New Guinea Highlands

These photos were taken on a 17 day trek I made from the southern end to the north ends of the Baliem road via the next valley east, Papua, Indonesia. im off to jayapura tomorrow night, looking forward to checking out wamena and the baliem valley.

if you have any advice for me before i go, id love to get any i can.

ill probably try and hire a guide(bahasa speaking) for about 10$ a day, as ive read this can be done but do you think i will find this easy?

Hi Ed, if you can still find a $10 guide, they likely won't be very good, and that rate is only for day trips around Baliem. You might try to contact Isaac who's link in on this video. He will know some one reliable to help you find what you want. The Baliem is one of the last wild places on earth, so it is worth as much as you can spare to get out as far as you can.
