Bay Area Severe Weather: Brentwood Funnel Cloud!

Funnel cloud spotted near Brentwood in Contra Costa County around 1:30pm on Saturday 1/23/2010. A tornado warning was issued from 1:15-2:08pm for an intense severe thunderstorm dropping heavy hail on Hwy 4 and showed some signs of rotation. Two funnel clouds were spotted at nearly the same time. Storm cell weakened rather quickly by 2:15pm, ending the threat for severe weather. Video clip courtesy: Brittany Ticer & the Thomas Family. Brittany Ticer told NBC Bay Area the funnel seen in this video lasted about 1-2 minutes before weakening. Some reports had possibly two funnel clouds in the sky around the time the cell moved towards Discovery Bay before weakening.

i saw the funnel cloud start loke right next to rave and my parents didnt beleve me cuz we never have any tornados in contra costa and wen we got home we lookeed on the internet and it said there was a tornado in brentwood

I was in Discovery Bay when this happened. It had hailed a few minutes earlier. There were 2 tornado warnings

1 time i was at my house in springdale and the winds started going over 40 mph and then it started raining violently 4 about 3 hours and then the rain stopped and there was a rainbow but 5 minutes l8er a tornado siren went off and i didnt know what to do but then my big brother came back from redlobster @ pinnacle hills and said there was a violent tornado there but luckily it didnt hit red lobster.

Yeah, I live in Pittsburg. I was scared shitless with i heard there was a Tornado in Discovery Bay. There was hail over were i was. So i didn't take anything lightly.

I think there was a small one back in the Flagstaff area a few years ago. That was a trip...a mountain tornado.
