See those helmets? ROCK. That's no joke--these guys were the real deal.

Townshend played bass on this track as john was on honeymoon, it was released as a charity single for the rolling stones who had been busted for drugs. Some versions have a fuzz box guitar solo overdubbed onto the track.

@palladin1969 I belive both came out in '66.

Great version. Makes me wonder if this one somehow inspired Townsend to write "Happy Jack" (or had they already done that one at this point?), as I recognize bits of it in there. If it's true that they did this song for Mick and Keth's bail (see TheBostonBoy611 coment below) I'd like to say a belated thank you to the Who from the bottom of my heart!!!

I heard that The Who covered this to make bail for Jagger and Richards who were imprisoned on drug possession charges

the original is better !!!!

Thank you, Alice Cooper! Great show tonight. Cooper's Cover of December 10, 2011. Didn't figure out it was The Who until the last 5 to 10 seconds of it. HAHA! Great cover!!

Well, there's a story behind this cover... The Who released in 1967 a single with two stones covers to support Jagger and Richard who were in jail, and this was the first one of a serie they would have released, if they stayed in jail longer, because they announced that they would release Jagger-Richard covers as long as the two were imprisoned to keep the memory for those songs fresh...
