  • Despite all cultural differences, it is incredible, how much similarities there is between our cultures, when it comes to traditional clothing.

  • @HildaBone what is your culture????

  • verry welldone and verry interesting!

one question: this clasical clothes are allways used?

    they are verry pretty!

about 30 years ago y weard some similar clothes ( but not so wonderfull like them, at that time we still lived in italy, it is easier there to get someting like this).

i`m not talking about traditions, i simply love this kind of clothes! they are wonderfull!

i think, that a lot of woman, even not palestinas, would love them!

  • Thanks! Yes those dresses where worn on special occasions and everyday life. Today it is a bit unusual, but some palestinian women still wear it, especially elderly women. I think people should skip those lame fashion modern clothing and wear their folk costumes!

  • also i think so. but also here in germany (black forest ) we have wonderfull traditional clothes, but so expensive! a normal wedding cloth costs 500 euro, a real welldone traditional cloth about 2000 euro!!!

so normal people cant by them and people with enough money prefere clothes from modern designers! it´s a shame, traditional clothes and not only clothes , but also the traditions by themself, disapears!it is realy sad, i like all taditional clothes so much!

    greatings from germany, manuela

  • Yes I know the prices seem insane for us "normal" people. A well crafted Palestinian wedding dress also costs about 2000€. But today everything that is handmade is very expensive, but also very rare sometimes to find. Not like the old days! ;)

  • This the demonstration that the islamic veil is not an Arabic tradition, one think is the veil, or the burka, another is the costumes that are part of every people's heritage.

  • @Mstislavica The Slavic people adopted Orthodox Christianity from the Byzantine Empire and adopted many of its cultural traditions. The Byzantine Empire included Palestine and influenced the art and culture of the region even after it fell to the Ottomans. Therefore, both the Middle East and Slavic nations preserved the culture of the Byzantines after it fell hence the similarities.

  • @HildaBone That's exactly what I was thinking! I am shocked how similar are some Palestinian clothes to Slavic clothes! Especially the red embroidery on white base. But lot of other pieces too! I am really amazed.

Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing to the author!
