@Gadelong Solid Snake did NOT first appear in Metal Gear Solid. He first appeared in Metal Gear for the MSX system. So the title IS incorrect.

The reason MGS is called Solid is because it's a fresh start and the beginning of a major franchise. MG1 and 2 were only sort of prologues.
