My 34 year old son grew up with Steely Dan..I used to sing these tunes to him when he was a baby..he's a grown man now and still loves the Dan..we went to a concert together and it was amazing..

Well Thats the great thing about Steely. They were a compendium of styles. Only a small postion of their music could be considered Hip Hop because only a small postion of it was sample for it. If Hip Hop never existed then Steely dan would still just be a great soulful band with great beats.

Both of my kids have grown up to Can't buy a thrill!
Midnight cruiser was sung to them when they were baby's!
We all sing together! Dirty work and Do it again! Steely Dan will always be in our hearts! They are amazing! Thank you so much!

How can you compare Steely Dan to rap , the boys have more talent in their ass than any rapper .When a rapper can play and sing great , let me know
