One of my pet peeves is the way the Obama people blame everything on Bush. Bush had at least three hurricanes that leveled much of the southeast, 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, wild fires that burned about a third of southern California, the senior drug plan, loss of tax revenues from the collapse of the tech bubble, loss of revenue from the 9/11 recession, oil prices going through the roof (about 85% of previous recessions were preceded by high oil prices) and probably a few I've missed. I'm sure the libs are even blaming high world oil prices on Bush also but it's a bunch of crap. Demonization is their game. Despite that we had 46 months of growth.

About the only thing some people disagree with the spending on is the Iraq war. I agree with Tony Blair that we needed to take out Saddam even without WMD ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvZixnUOFhI ).

Americans are brainwashed from listening to a biased media their entire lives and that just don't get the consequences of a loose cannon. Saddam even wanted us to think he had WMD (and a lot of other nations and a hell of a lot of Dems agreed including the CIA director who was a Clinton carryover) because Saddam was more scared of Iran than the U.S. Plus you can't just leave a blood bath of three million dead like we did in Nam and yeah, Saddam kept out Al Qaeda but after they were there I don't see how a free haven in Iraq was any less of a thread than a free haven in Afghanistan. I haven't had a liberal answer that one yet!!! (I've read that CATO thesis by the liberal professor which seems to be the liberal bible but nearly everything that jerk said proved to be wrong. It doesn't hold water plus maybe Iran wouldn't have lasted that long if the liberals weren't constantly telling our enemies we were on the verge of quitting, which just encouraged them).

For people who disagree with that and still blame everything on Iraq, the cost of Iraq over an eight year period was about $660 billion ($660/8 = $82 billion per year) ( http://www.armscontrolcenter.org/policy/securityspending/articles/supplementa... ). Some of that was R & D for weapons for a different kind of war that we would have needed anyway. The cost of Afghanistan is running about $50 billion per year and we've got twice the number of troops there which I believe is mostly due to the R & D already completed.

That $660 billion over eight years is a drop in the bucket compared to social programs not even counting the stimulus (we are up to three stimulus's now, $787 billion then $80 billion. So Obama has pissed about one and a half times that in a year in just the stimulus's, not counting all other social programs and other expenses. I couldn't find a number but $82 billion divided by a $3 trillion budget comes to 2.7% per year for the cost of Iraq. People don't think!!!! They believe without question the crap that George Soros and moveon.org and Pelosi and Reid put out.
