@ahmohamu - I second that emotion!...I was born in Hargeisa in 1953 and am Caucasian. I believe I was the only white child born there at that time. My father was trying to help with the Hoof & Mouth Disease Epidemic there, at the time...he was an Agricultural Veterinarian. He died in 2009.
My hope is to return some day...I do love the Somali, of which, there are many here in Vancouver Canada.
Mahadsanid.

@kauaspilvet Your point is well taken. I hope you and yours had a wonderful time over there. From what i have seen in the video you know very well how to have a good time.

I am not a somalilander, I am from somalia.. but you all are my brothers n sisters.
And seeing this video, I am very impressed by the development you guys have done in Hargeisa. Keep working at it, and make Hargeisa into the best city in africa.
Good work Somaliland! Keep it up!!!

@505LO Hi, just happened to be around... I get your point. These artists you mention and i.e. Magool and Sulfa are great artists, that we love to listen every day. On the video the music was only something that was on in the cassette player. And there's no war in Somaliland, but joyful peace.

i totally understand the situation of these kids being mixed somali myslf. i hate 2 see mixed somali & full somali kids not speak their language. i blame the parents. somalians who marry foreigners must ensure their kids maintain that link thru language, culture & religion. i will not be able to integrate with somalis if i didnt speak the language. KAUASPILVET glad to see you are trying to introduce ur beautiful kids to their heritage by taking them to somaliland. well done
