Another packed day was in store for Day 3 (Feb 20, 2011) of our Montreal adventure. In the morning, expert tour guide Ronald Poiré met us for a driving tour of the city which covered Old Montreal, Jean Drapeau Island, Downtown Montreal, Westmount, Mont Royal and the Plateau. We stopped for a fresh bagel in the Mile End and had a scrumptious lunch at the Jean Talon Market. Ronald really knows his stuff and it was great learning so much about this interesting city from a real insider.

In the afternoon we enjoyed a 2.5 hour performance by various top-ranked international circus artists at La Tohu, a non-profit organization for circus arts training and performance. As part of the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain we saw talented circus artists from Russia, China, France, Kazakhstan, South Africa and Canada.

Our evening program included a multi-course dinner at Ghandi Restaurant on Rue St-Paul in Old Montreal. From delicate flavours to hotly spiced dishes we sampled a wide assortment of Indian dishes and had a great time with owners Louis and Farouk who gave us the background of this popular dining establishment. During the kitchen tour I even saw how nan bread is baked inside the traditional woodburning ovens.
