The oboist is very good but Fabio Biondi's playing is stunning as ever. I think they blend quite well. The oboist is not more expressive at all to my mind, he just moves much more and this might be linked to expressive playing, but to me it is not necessarily so. Fabio's playing is so subtle, the phrasing is always there, not a single note stays unshaped, the sound is fabulous - a superb musician.
