@KVHolland3 You're definitely in the minority with that comment as most people think she was over scored and only placed on the team because of her mother's job at USAG. Personally, I think that's bull shit and that she earned her positioned. I agree that she never really scored as well as she should have compared to the other team members.
@tide32athlete The US made her score so low at their competitions...Johnson was getting 16 and up and Peszek was hitting middle 15s...Sacramone was getting high 15s and she doesn't even have the difficulty...Peszek has a double-double (usually stuck and better then a half in-half out)...a double arabian...(matching Sacramone)...and a 2.5 to full (obviously more difficult then 2.5 to layout) then she'd have a1.5 twist I think and a great double pike. Peszek got scammed by USA Gymnastics
@KVHolland3 Unfortunately, Sam didn't do floor exercise at all during the Olympics. She hurt her ankle about 15 minutes prior to the start of Prelims. She was pretty consistent with her double double, so I was always surprised that Marta had her take it out, but seems she did it to make sure the USA would get a solid score rather than risk a major deduction.
I think Marta made her do a full-in pike at the Olympics so Sacramone, and Johnson could make finals...I bet if she did her hardest routine at the Olympics and wasn't injured she could've made EFs...
Wow, her body widened so much in a year for the Olympics. I guess back then she could do more ballet/dance moves since she wasn't such a powerhouse. Next to Nastia, she's my favorite.
@KVHolland3 I love Sam I wish she could've been healthy for 2008 but she DESERVED her spot I totally agree with you

@tide32athlete To all those anti-Peszek fans? Who should we have sent to the Olympics if it wasn't Samantha Peszek?

This was way better than her Olympic Trials. She could have been great.
