@markmain Rare earth magnets are very intense, but have a very small magnetic field. so you have an intense magnetic field for one or 2 inches, then after that no magnetic field. The older magnets are not as strong but the field can be as far as 3 or 4 inches, depending on the size.

I am also curious why the strong magnets don't interfere with the sensitive magnetic field of the cartridge, can you help explain this?

Will you explain why there are 4 tonearms with the different lengths (and I'll assume different cartridges)? I also assumed it was for different styles of music; I even pondered for different speeds of records. I'm impressed and intrigued, but also at a loss to understand they they are different. For example, I would assume the longer the better, so why not make them all extravagantly long since? BTW, I think that Dr. Seuss owned an earlier version of this model. :)

I gather that the reason there are 4 tonearms is to make it user friendly so you don't have to change the cartridges for the styles of music? (Rock, classical, etc.)Beautiful machine.
