When they talk about Soze having a German father, this may indicate that Kobayashi may well even be Verbals father, this also links to when he talks about how criminals told their children about Soze. (This is just a theory, I'm not saying that this is how it actually is)

For the idiots who think the Lawyer is Kobayashi, do some research & realize that Spacey, Singer, & the screenwriter all have admitted Verbal is Soze, there is plenty of hints none more so than Soze being Turkish for Verbal...
