http://SmokingStrobes.com/ConcertPhotography - Last vid before Chinese New Year break! Let's face it: If you show up to the next Rolling Stones concert with your fat boy DSLR and a monster zoom, then you won't have the slightest chance to get past the bouncers, let alone in front of the stage. To get in, you would need an accreditation from a music magazine, who loves your concert photos and wants you to shoot the Stones for them. Making a music mag loving your photos? Sounds at least easier than knocking down the bouncers. So let's start right now with some lovely concert photos in a bar in which you are perceived as the friend and not as the enemy. You'll make photos good enough to convince your first music mag.

I wish you good light!

  • your video very helpful hope u can share more in future

  • Thanks man! If you don't mind I would like to hear more about music/pub/club photography. Thanks dude

  • I'd watch any of your videos, even the stuff I'm not really in to, as I still learn something which I can use later.

  • what is 「he~fail photographer, how is it going」?

  • someone get killed and someone graved something on her back

  • Good tips, hope you do more of these live performance tutorials. A lot of my friends are musicians so this helps all of us! Best regards, Mike

  • i agree! i shoot concerts/shows all the time, and these tips are extremely useful! i've seen a few more of your videos, and i really like your drawings in them along with your wealth of information and brevity. bravo herr zelbel!

  • I really enjoy your videos! I disagree that you should just stick to one type of tutorial. While you obviously excel at the beauty photography, your talent applies well in other areas too. I think that you wanting to branch out into other areas helps to add more dimensions to someone's experience, even if it isn't going to be their main focus.

  • THIS IS GREAT, I LEARNED A LOT AND PREFER THESE TYPE OF TUTORIAL INSTEAD OF THE SEMI NUDE MODEL KIND.....THANKS A LOT!

  • this really helps me out! can you recommend a speedlight for my camera? I actually just own a camera and have been shooting in RAW format and been doing alot of editing afterwards. I own a canon rebel xsi, and Im looking for a cheaper speedlight or flash that I can also use for beauty photography.

I love doing band photography so it was wonderful seeing a tutorial! thankyou!
