A documentary film which explores a condition known as retinal detachment through the case of Nicholas Gray, an aspiring photographer.

Due to unfavourable compression, you won't get the low frequency bass effects during the retina animation, or the full impact of the opening graphic sequence.

Feedback is much appreciated.

  • Hey man,

I watched this video about a year ago as I suffered from a detached retina in May 2009. I thought your video did a very good job in capturing the feelings that I had when I initially discovered I had a detached retina.

I would just like to let other people know who has had a similar condition that the surgery can be successful for this condition. I went from being legally blind in my left eye to having perfect vision after scleral buckle surgery.

  • Usually people with myopia have that problem as it is caused by the eyeball changing and growing in size as the body develops...I wonder why the retina doesn't grow along with it. But it usually stops in late teens or early twenties. Mine did around 22. I really hope everything turns out fine. Just be careful next time. :) Love your photos on flickr. TC.

  • This is due to the fact that m sight is on a continual decline, there is a chance that I might not but with everything thats happened I'm not that confident.

Hope your doing ok after your operation

  • Good to see you are coping okay with it! I'm 19 and just had the buckle in my right eye and laser in the left. I couldn't help but notice you mention that one day you will become blind. Is this due to the retina detachment?

  • Update - I now have another problem, the jelly in my left eye has sepurated from the retina and the hospital won't do anything until I suffer from a detached retina.

This is a condition common in the over 65's, I'm still only 20 :S

  • Was a great documentary on the day. 5 stars!
