People need to remember the same Soviet Union team that whipped Canada in their inuageral World Championship with NHL players in Vienna in 1977 got beat later in the Tournament by Czechoslavakia.

The 1976 Canada Cup and 1977 World Championship Czecholslavakia team was the toughest forechecking defensive team they ever had. The 1960s,1970s,and early 1980s Soviet Union teams were the toughest they ever had. Although Czecholslavakia team beat the Soviet Union in the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics, the Soviet Union team still won the Gold Medal.
