@lonniebiz Sometimes he doesn't have the rights to a particular song. I was at a concert in the 90s and he wasn't able to sing songs off the Back In The Fire album then. It's changed since.

I requested Gene to do this live, and he said he couldn't do it. Either the band didn't know it, or he had forgotten the words (he didn't specify the exact reason). I guess he just doesn't get that request too often, but I think this is great song.

One of the rawest vocalist I have ever heard, I saw gene in Houston at the livestock show many years ago...what a great show.

Actually, livingadream2, you forgot to mention that 'Gene' is his middle name. He was born Gary Gene Watson. Anyway, 'Maybe' hit #23 in Billboard, 8-15-81, God bless!

Thank you for posting another great song by Gene. He just sounds better and better each time I listen to him. Every one of his songs is a real gem and no one can sing a song with the emotion that he does. This song says a lot and I wonder if many of us do truly listen when a relationship is over. - Paula
