Johnny Cash, as much as I loved his music, was no saint; but instead was a convict and a man of questionable character.

Mr Cash didnt write this song, it was written by Pete Seeger and made famous by Roberta Flack in the 70's.

It was also covered by Jimmy Scott, and Leona Lewis contemporarily.

If the bible covered the world to the present day, Johnny would feature prominently in the later chapters. The Man in Black was a gift from God to the lost and downtrodden. He had the power of an Old Testament prophet, and chose his words and work with that kind of care... he lived his life as scripture, both the good and the bad. Johnny Cash is dead. Long live Johnny Cash.

Ol Johnnie's voice feels like golden leaves scattering upon dead grass in late autumn.
