  • @StrumstickJoe now you sound like you're just trying to insult me.. You answered nothing on my point of the need for a first cause and you assumed God is imaginary because you've never seen Him yourself. I understand the difficulty in having the belief in God, but having a close-minded attitude towards it based on your own experience of Christianity is just insulting, but not insightful. Do you actually know why Christians go to church and pray? Faith is simply trusting that all God does is good

  • @jrocc77 Your leap of faith needs to be taken every time you think of your "lord". You have to cross that line between reality and fantasy. Most of you need the circle-jerk of a church and "prayer" to reaffirm regularly. You are enslaved to your imagined, fearful "master."

    Bye for now.

  • Every institution where u reject the rules and rebel, kicks u out. But God creates a world and u and then u rebel and he gives u chance after chance and even suffers the punishment that u deserve, and u still rebel. Yea u get kicked out and out of Gods presence is hell. God tries to warn ppl that it will feel like fire but instead ppl whine and moan that its not fair while they continue their rebellion.

  • @StrumstickJoe And one more thing, a philosophical understanding that God exists is not a "leap of faith", the leap of faith in Christianity is that we have faith that Christ will come back for us and we will be in heaven one day, not the existence of God. A philosophical understanding that God exists is just that, and acknowledgment of the logic put forth for the existence of God.

  • @StrumstickJoe How can it not need a first cause? The question of being is how does anything exist rather than nothing? Something cannot come from nothing, so how is there anything here? If you say that what is here was always here in that tiny point of existence the big bang theory explains, you neglect the question of what caused the first motion? You can't argue gravity because then we say why did the big bang occur when it did and not a billion years before if it existed for eternity?

  • @jrocc77 Just got time for one more response - then I would ask you to read my questions and work out some answer to them in your head - it seems straightforward to me. You need a "first cause" and a "reason" for life to exist - I don't.

You said: "First you need the philosophical understanding that God exists, then you need to find some way of knowing who that God is"

That precisely illustrates the leap of faith I will never take. I have no cause to. I have not assumed your "sin".

    Bye for now.

  • @StrumstickJoe Ok, have fun writing your novel! I will leave you with the words of Socrates "The unexamined life is not worth living." We are always learning as people, but make sure that when you make decisions in life they are out of much study and then even more study. Always wonder what if you are wrong, what are the opponent's arguments? Could they be right? Otherwise you will live a life full of ignorant beliefs, like many Christians, and that's not a life worth living.

  • @StrumstickJoe Do you really think that the only reason people believe that the bible is the word of God is because it says it is? Sure, some, or most even, but not I... First you need the philosophical understanding that God exists, then you need to find some way of knowing who that God is, or if some other religion explains the metaphysical realm in a more appropriate manner. There is a lot of study that goes into it, and it is a matter of ignorance that any of us would say we know the Truth.

  • @jrocc77 I have to go now. I have a novel to write/edit.

I'll look back on this channel in a day or two.
