OWS-Times Square - Sgt Shamar Thomas Confronts Police

United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to
toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall
Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality
that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.

Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college.

Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country:
Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty
(Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand
Father Navy veteran (World War II).

I took an Oath that I live by.I am NOT anti-NYPD. I am anti- Police
Brutality. I am no longer under contract with the USMC so I do NOT have
to follow military uniform regulations. I DON'T affiliate myself with
ANY GROUPS or POLITICAL ORG. I affiliate myself with the AMERICAN PEOPLE
that's it. I REFUSE to affiliate with anything that SEPERATES. There is
an obvious problem in the country and PEACEFUL PEOPLE should be allowed
to PROTEST without Brutality. I was involved in a RIOT in Rutbah, Iraq
2004 and we did NOT treat the Iraqi citizens like they are treating the
unarmed civilians in our OWN Country. No one was brutalized because our
mission was to "WIN the hearts and minds", why should I expect anything
less in my OWN Country.

Oh c'mon Mystyprix get your head out of the NY Times & lets stay on topic shall we?? Admit that this "off his meds bully" set out on a quest to harass New Yorks Finest. That was his real goal. He approached the group of NYPD officers with the intent to incite a violent confrontation with these fine men and women. All to be caught on video and then within minutes, rushed over to the Snooze Media to be played in an endless loop for 72 hours. I mean the video is clear but I want you to admit it.

Thomas "acted stupidly" and thank goodness it was recorded on digital video for all to see. Was looking for the HD version so I could get a clear picture of this U.S. Marine foaming at the mouth at these brave NYPD officers. Well, maybe next time I'm sure. And he's a U.S. Marine who just got back from Afghanistan--I'm guessing he's brave enough with or without the cameras roiling.
