@ProfitofWar I gather that we differ. In what way has religion been favorable to humanity?
If religion is favorable to humanity why is religious people fight against change that benifits humanity. For example, stem-cell research. Why is religious people use religion and God allows them to hate people that are different them and actually do voilence against the people that have different ideas and lifestyles then them. For example, look at the history since Nicene Creed until now.

@TheAudioBible Mary did change the course of human history--she was given the choice to bear our Lord--she could have said no, but she didn't, she said "yes." Sugarbeet's point is to ask what the world would be like if we, like Mary, all said yes to God when we are faced with choices in our lives.
All of us can change the world if we say yes to God each and every day. Mary's example of humility and love of God is a beautiful example for all of us.
